DODDINGTON IN BLOOM

Doddington in Bloom exists to encourage community participation and to improve the appearance of the village. It is run by the village for the village and everyone who lives here can be a part of this project.

The volunteer committee who are all residents of the village have worked together to tidy up some of the neglected parts of the village and to develop and maintain new planting areas. Our village is normally litter and graffiti free with minimal dog fouling, due in part to the vigilance of the in Bloom group.

The annual front garden competition, held in memory of the late Parish Cllr Ian Woodhouse, recognises and rewards local residents who do so much to enhance the floral aspect of the village.

Since the group began in 2006 Doddington has been awarded a Silver Gilt in 2007 and 2008 by South and South East in Bloom in recognition of the environmental and horticultural excellence of the village.

Doddington in Bloom is a dynamic group which we hope reflects the aspirations of residents in the way that our village develops.  If you would like to suggest future projects for the group or would like to become involved yourself, then please contact us via Swale in Bloom on DavidandSallieShaw@swale.gov.uk   or sallie@bloomingswale.freeserve.co.uk
