The Doddington Pantomime

HISTORY

Les Roberts & Phil Filkins had performed a successful comedy sketch at the school. Later amidst the alcoholic fumes of a New Years party it was suggested 'why not do a panto?'.

Les & Phil courageously set out to put on a pantomime where previously there had been no theatricals in Doddington for some 50 years since productions by 'The Valley Players' in the 1950's

Working totally from scratch they wrote a script, assembled,organised and rehearsed a cast (The Valley Players), created scenary and overcame all set backs, obstacles and problems to put on the highly successful pantomime 'Cinderella' in December 1999

The rest as they say 'is history' and The Valley Players have staged a village pantomime every year since.
